Biography

Alemayehu Bekele was born in Addis Abeba in 1994gc. Graduated from Mekelle University in Architecture; (Ethiopia institute of technology Mekelle) 2017. Studied art classes at enlightment art academy and Abyssinia fine art school side by side with his regular class. Worked at EIABC as a student assistant.

As both an architect and artist he represents a passion consumed in creating beautifully detailed pieces of artwork with the simplicity of a piece of string.

He uses string (sewing thread)weaving colored string,wool,wire or yarn between hammered nails to make realistic portraits as art medium since he was a student of architecture. He uses the string in different ways one which is the geometrical in large complex creationis based on mathematical formula with artistic expression to create an optical illusion. And the other one is experimenting on the threads or the strings as a free art ways of expressing his emotions alike the geometrical one and making mesmerizing portraits made with sewing thread.
